The Department of Petroleum Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology opened its doors in 2002 — the result of a determined partnership between the university's leadership and the National Iranian Oil Company. With official approval from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, it was founded to answer a clear national calling: the need for a world-class hub of upstream expertise.
Today, the department ranks as one of the best country's most comprehensive Petroleum & Geo-Energy Engineering program. From day one, Petroleum Industry recognized the strategic importance of this mission and placed its full weight behind the project — financing the construction of the faculty's core infrastructure and equipping its laboratories with advanced, industry-grade tools. To date, this enduring partnership has delivered more than 3.1 billion rials and over three million dollars in targeted investment, laying the foundations for a center of excellence that continues to grow.
